On Friday, the 20th November 2009. at 7.30 PM at the headquarters of the Croatian Museum of Tourism, Villa Angiolina, Opatija, there will be a presentation of the book "The bathing heritage of Kvarner" by author Mirjana Kos and Julja Lozzi Barković. About the book will speak along with authors Vincent Ivic (President of the Croatian Museum Council), Vladi Bralić Arch, Goran Crnkovic (director of the National Archives in Rijeka) and Christian Staničić (CEO Liburnia Riviera Hotel).

5th Jazz Ex Tempore is taking place in Opatija, 19.-24. October 2009 at Villa Antonio. Workshops schedule:
Tuesday, 20/10 - Lindy Huppertsberg - contrabass;
Wednesday, 21/10 - Ivan Aleksijević - piano.
Workshops are FREE and opet to the public.
The Final Concert - 23. October, Friday, 21:00h at the Villa Angiolina. Tickets (1 hour before) - 50 kn.
The tournament will be played at the Grand hotel congress center.The winners will be proclamed on Sunday, october 25, 2009 at 15,00 at the end of the tournament all the players, their escorts and the guests of The organizing committee are invited to a gala lunch at the hotel Kamelija.

FACULTY OF FOOD TECHNOLOGY OSIJEK, Department of Cereal Processing Technology, Osijek, Croatia and ICC-INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR CEREAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY are oganizing the 5th International Congress “Flour-Bread ‘09” and the 7th Croatian Congress of Cereal Technologists “Brašno-Kruh ‘09.”, which will take place in Opatija, Croatia from the 21st to 23rd October 2009.
Organized by the Croatian Museum of Tourism, Opatija, on Tuesday, on the 20th October 2009, at 19.30 pm in the Art pavilion "Juraj Sporer" will be opened the exhibition of comics and illustrations EMISSION OF EMOTIONS. The Emission of emotions is an informal strip gang which make Dunja Janković (Mali Lošinj, Portland), Irena Jukic - Pranjic (Bjelovar), Matija Pisačić (Sesvete) and Damir Steinfl (Opatija), directed towards the original author's comic strip.
The exhibition in Opatija will be open until 8th November 2009.
3rd Croatian Symposium of Echocardiography with International Participation, traditionally entitled “Cardiovascular Ultrasound: from Imaging to Knowledge in the Practice of Clinical Cardiology” will be held on 16-18 October 2009 at the Hotel “Ambasador” in Opatija, Croatia.
The program of the congress will include plenary sessions with the following main topics: Diastology, Myocardial and pericardial disease, Echocardiography challenges of the right ventrickle, Valvular diseases, Transesophageal echocardiography, Old and new imaging technologies.
