Days of Antifascism in Opatija

From the 7th to 9th March in Opatija are held, days of anti-fascism, with an evening of film, theater and a panel discussion which will be attended by prominent Croatian intellectuals and president of Croatia, mr Ivo Josipovic. Organizers: Association of anti-fascist veterans and anti-fascists of Opatija and Liburnia and Gymnasium "Eugen Kumičić" Opatija.

MEMENTO

Opatija Association of anti-fascists in cooperation with the Opatija Gymnasium "Eugen Kumičić" on the occasion of International Holocaust Remembrance Day is organizing for all high school students in Opatija, but citizens are also welcome, special performance entitled, as in previous years - Memento.

Lecture "The Development of Children"

Within the project "Opatija-friend of children", is organized a lecture titled "The Development of Children" on Thursday, 24th of November starting at 18.00 in Villa Antonio, Opatija. The lecturer is Tanja Kosec, MD, specialist in psychiatry, University Hospital Rijeka, Department of Pediatrics, Head of Clinical Unit of Pediatric Psychiatry. The lecture is intended for parents, teachers, educators, and professionals in helping professions who will receive information about child development and when and how it achieved professional psychiatric help.

100th Anniversary of "Mohorovic discontinuity"

This year marks the 100th anniversary of the discovery od "Moho" - Mohorovicic discontinuity. It is one of the greatest achievements in the field of seismology of all time, and it is credited to Andrija Mohorovicic, seismologist and an outstanding scientist, born in Volosko. You are invited to lecture on "Seismology in Croatia one hundred years after the discovery of Mohorovicic discontinuity" by prof. PhD. Marijan Herak and prof. PhD. Davorka Herak - the Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb. The lecture will be held on 26th November at Villa Antonio (Nazorova 2) at 11 AM.

JAZZ EX TEMPORE

Jazz Ex Tempore is a 6th meeting of the significant world-jazz artists from several countries which compose, rehearse and play along the new and original repertoire during a one-week event. Each of them brings their own traditional music idioms and original compositions, that are going to be explored together, interactively rearranged, rehearsed, and performed at the end of the meeting - 20th od November in Villa Angiolina at 8 PM.
