Concert Imperial Meeting

The oldest Croatian chamber ensemble - "The Zagreb Quartet", will stage a concert on the 4th May at the Crystal Ballroom of Hotel Kvarner, Opatija, named Imperial encounter - a reminder of the meeting of the Austro-Hungarian Emperor Franz Joseph I and the German Emperor William II, in Opatija 1894.

On the occasion of this encounter, orchestra played the Imperial Quartet (Kaiserquartett) of Joseph Haydn and Ludwig van Beethoven's quartet, and the same program will play The Zagreb Quartet.

This historic meeting noted New York Times informing the meeting with the "Hand-kissing", decorated streets, and dinner in the villa Amalia, after which Francis Joseph suddenly left Opatija, because of, it is speculated, the state urgent affairs.
