Carnival Flag Hoisting 2012

Each year, on 17th od January, the Carnival flag is hoisted together with the "pust" - Carnival puppet who is to blame for every evil in the past year, which is put trial and burned at the end of Carnival.

Traditionally - for centuries in Liburnija masks take over on the feast of St. Anton, January the 17th and the Carnival folly begins. Dancing and singing, "kampanat&obahajat" until Ash Wednesday. The sound of Antonja's horn, hand over the town's key and hoisting of carnival flag mark the start of Carnival!
