Zagreb soloists were formed in 1953 within Croatian Radio Television, under artistic guidance of a world renowned cellist Antonio Janigro. For more than five decades – lead by concert masters such as Tonko Ninić, Dragutin Hrdjok, Anđelko Krpan and Borivoj Matinić-Jerčić, they have maintained their musical quality at an enviable level and have performed at major prestigious concert halls of the world. All members of the ensemble possess distinctive virtuosity and discipline of music making, along with extraordinary enthusiasm and love for chamber music. They have held over 3500 concerts on all continents, in the biggest metropolises and the most famous concert halls. They were regular guests at music festivals such as the ones in Salzburg, Prague, Edinburgh, Berlin, Bergen, Barcelona, Istanbul, Prades Ossiach, Dubrovnik and many more. They worked with many renowned soloists. Zagreb soloists have received numerous awards and recognitions.
