Zagreb flute ensemble has prepared a repertoire of modern compostions by domestic and foreign authors inspired or influenced by the folklore. In Dptych for 12 flutes, Tomislav Uhlik has used paraphrases of two Croatian floklore songs: Sivi soko k vili doletio from the island of Mljet and Linđo from the area of Dubrovnik. Dubrovnik native Petar Obradović also weaved folklore motives of the city into his Flute session for 6 flutes. Istrian folklore inspired Miljenko Prohaska in Skice for 8 flutes, a composition made for the Zagreb flute ensemble and by suasion of Renata Penzić. Igor Kuljerić's Silbanski tanac for 6 flutes was inspired by a dance from island Silba. Dutch fulte player Wil Offermans found his inspiration for Bamburia for 7 flutes in Spanish tradition. Gaelic Offering is also an interesting piece, compose for 4 flutes by an American composer Catherine McMichael which comprises of four Celtic pieces. Chick Corea is the author of Spain, which is in majority's opinion, a modern jazz standard. The composition starts with a moving Adagio from Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo.
