Burning of the carnival’s mascot

Ash Wednesday with the burning of the carnival’s mascot by firing it with a thirty meter long rocket, after it has been proclaimed the ‘culprit’ for all the misfortunes at a public trial and condemned to ‘fly to Mars, to the Moon or wherever it pleases in the Universe’. This tradition dates back more than thirty five years when men first landed on the moon. The launching rocket is getting bigger every year. This event marks the end of carnival and of the winter celebrations.
