3. Jazz Ex tempore ...

The multi-cultural jazz project and workshops

The main task of the project is a comparitive research of the traditional music from various parts of the world , as well as it's reshaping to a contemporary world-jazz music.
The Project has an extemporary character, it is being crated on the spot. Thus come the similarity with such projects in fine arts, where artists create new pieces in a determined time and place.

Jazz Ex Tempore is a meeting of the significant jazz artists from several countries, which compose, rehearse and play along the new and original repertoire during a one-week event. Each of them brings their own compositions, that are going to be rehearsed, arranged and performed at the Final concert.
The peak of the project is the Final concert of the selected compositions, live recording of the concert, and publishing the Audio CD.

Considering the advantage of such a particular artist meeting in Opatija, we would like to enable the insight into a crative processe to the wide audience as well. Therefor, several workshops and Jazz talks will take place, where artists will transfer a part of their traditional culture, skills and knowledge to the young musicians.

Workshops are open for all public, in the form of presentations, discussions and instructions.
3rd Jazz Ex Tempore is taking place in Opatija, 22.-28. October 2007.. Workshops schedule is (monday to thursday) at 19:00h at Juraj Šporer Art Pavillion. The Final Concert is on 26. October, Friday, 21:00h at the Golden Hall of the Hotel Imperial.
