10. International Basketball Tournament "Marino Cvetkovic". The tournament is named after long-term basketball player of Basketball Club Opatija who gave his life for Croatia in 1991., during the war for independence.

Football matches are played in Istria and Kvarner.
Alpe Adria Championship is the most important regional competition including competitors from Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Croatia and Poland. Competitions will be held on Saturday and Sunday starting at 08:00 am - seven races in the class: 125 SP, 125 GP, Stocksport 600, Supersport, Superbike, Stocksport 1000 and Endurance Race 200 MLS. with 78 circles.
Tickets: 20.00 kn. On the day of the event ticket price will be 40.00 kn (valid for two days).
From May the 2nd to 9th, Sports Days in Matulji will be divided into two parts: competitive and promotional, within which all sports organizations be presented.

On Monday, April 6th, at 12.00 on training pitch of FC Opatija the football legend Davor Šuker met Opatija's youngest players.
Meeting is initiated by Davor Šuker on the occasion of his decision to move to ''Pearl of Adriatic'' - Opatija.
FC Opatija is a football club with the largest youth selection in the city, and can be proud of renovated training football pitch.
Meeting attended Mayor Dr. Muzur and representatives of the Sports Association - Town of Opatija.

On Saturday,March 28th, at Platak will be held Adriatic slalom, the international FIS competition for skiers (M/F). The first slalom run for women skiers is scheduled at 9:00 am, while men should start at 9:45. Other rides are scheduled at 11:15, and exactly at noon. Entrance to the Adriatic Slalom is free.
