March 2012.
The sixth Festival of rock documentary film, Dorf, is held in Rijeka from 15th to 18th March at various locations such as Art Rijeka, Croatia Cinema, Association of molecule, the Association of Spirit, a club Palach, RiBook bookstore and Tunnel Club. DORF has so far been organized in partnership with other cities for four years, and this is the first edition of which takes place exclusively in Rijeka only.

42nd Kvarner Amateur Film Review
KRAF is one of the oldest non-professional film festival in Croatia, which shows us all the advantages of non-commercial aspects of film. The festival consists of screenings of films, the award ceremony, the round table, and good music that will give us the contemporary pop band Maer. Admission is free!

Rainer Werner Fassbinder, already the director of almost twenty films by the age of twenty-nine, paid homage to his cinematic hero, Douglas Sirk, with this updated version of Sirk’s All That Heaven Allows. Lonely widow Emmi Kurowski (Brigitte Mira) meets Arab worker Ali (El Hedi ben Salem) in a bar during a rainstorm. They fall in love––to their own surprise––and to the shock of family, colleagues, and drinking buddies. In Ali: Fear Eats the Soul (Angst essen seele auf), Fassbinder expertly uses the emotional power of the melodrama to underscore the racial tensions threatening German culture.

Recorded by William Kentridge between 1989 and 2003, this series of nine short films follows the fictional story of iconic antihero Soho Eckstein, a wealthy South African mine owner, land developer, and cuckold. William Kentridge is undoubtedly the best known South African artist, currently in demand by major institutions all over the world.
