January 2014.
“Krepat, ma ne molat!” (Die but never give up) - is the motto that summarizes all the best that Rijeka Carnival represents. Despite its long history, a cheerful, stubborn, uncontrollable but also critical Carnival spirit shows no tiredness, but thrives from year to year, growing through a new generation of Carnival participants, feeding the events with new ideas equal to those of its long tradition. And this tradition is actually much longer than first thought. There is evidence of a Carnival in this region going back many years, which is not strange considering its critical spirit. There is a prohibition document from 1449 – a provision of the City Council that prohibits the covering of the face with a mask (with the exception of guests of the masked ball in Kaštel), which at that time was severely punished. The aim of that provision was to maintain public order and prevent a free criticism of the government. But history testifies that the Carnival has overcome all the obstacles, and has become the festival of joy, and humour that it is today, but often critically commenting on current events, and a possibility for anyone to be, at least for a short period, what he wants.

Traditional manifestation of national minorities in Rijeka - Ethno Festival, which this year takes place for 17th time, organized by the City of Rijeka, the Croatian Music Union and all Rijeka national minority associations will be held on 28th and 29 September at the Italian Community and Czech home. At the 17th Ethno festival will perform more than 220 musicians, singers and dancers.

After three years of serious work, long-awaited book, "Rijeka rock anthem" by Zoran Žmirić finally came out in print.
"Rijeka rock anthems" book is about the creation of the best rock songs of Rijeka from 1979. to 2009. year. Through hundreds of interviews, the author of the book reconstructs the development of 60 songs produced over 30 years of cult activity of Rijeka's musical scene at the same time bringing the biographies of its most creative artists and stories about the origin of the name of Rijeka bands.

Skart are founded by Dragan Protic and Djordje Balmazovic 1990, in an abandoned graphic studio of the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade, as a product of strifes / dialogues between two people. Combining a wide range of experience: poetry, graphic design, architecture, performance, social engagement, SKART has developed a local strategy street samizdat / samodat action. In a series of their successful projects should be pointed out that they represent Serbia at the 12th Venice Architecture Biennale, 2010. year with the project "Klackaliste - polygon of imbalance."
