Croatian Museum of Tourism in Opatija, and the Croatian Natural History Museum - Zagreb, organize the exhibition "No water habitat no wading birds" on Friday, March 27th 8:00 pm in Art pavilion Juraj Sporer . Opatija.
Author of conception is doc.dr.sci. Srecko Leinar, while the authors of photographs and text are Srecko Leiner and Denis Leiner . Free entry.
The exhibition will be open until April 18th 2009.
Camellia's fan club "Iginio Scarpa" organizes the competition for the most beautiful camellia 2009 in which can participate residents of Opatija Riviera, from Volosko to Brsec.
The most beautiful camellia will be declared at the of exhibition "Camellia of Opatija Riviera," which will be held from 21st to 26th March in Art pavilion "Juraj Sporer.
From 1974.g. camellia is a symbol of tourism of Opatija and its Riviera.

The exhibition “Corpus Mysticum“ - Dimitrije Popovic , prominent contemporary painter, sculptor, graphic artist and designer, artist of substantial production and rich work whose resume includes more than 50 independent and 200 group exhibitions.

Andrija Maurovic, as illustrator, cartoonist and poster author, his creative peak reached as the author of black and white adventure comics, which began in the media in 1935. and which encompasses all the qualities of previous experiences. It is difficult to describe the total number of his professions and activities. He was a painter of seascapes and apocalyptic scenes, caricaturist, illustrator, preacher and comic strip sketcher. He lived life of his own and created a great number of impressive comic strip heroes and personalities (like Dan, Old Tom-cat, Radoslav).

Andrija Maurović was a renowned comic book author, often called the father of Croatian and Yugoslav comics.
Maurović collaborated with many eminent Croatian writers and screenplay writers, such as Franjo Fuis. He also drew his illustrations based on literary models of epic world writers and novelists like Alex Tolstoy, Zane Grey, August Šenoa, Jack London, B. Traven, Max Brand, and H. G. Wells.
It is difficult to describe the total number of his professions and activities. He was a painter of seascapes and apocalyptic scenes, caricaturist, illustrator, preacher and comic strip sketcher. He lived life of his own and created a great number of impressive comic strip heroes and personalities (like Dan, Old Tom-cat, Radoslav).
Being in all the world encyclopaedias and publications on comics, he has earned his eminent place in the art of world comics. Numerous editions and reprints of his best works, numerous awards and prizes he has received, the reputation that he achieved is comparable with the achievements and fame of the greatest names and creators of cartoons in the world.

Ivo Robić, the most famous Croatian pop music singer older generation, began his career on the terrace of the Hotel Kvarner in Opatija, and for many years performed at the festival in Opatija, MIK and elsewhere. The exhibition presents his music and life through the records, objects of personal use, prizes and awards, photographs and news clips also using audio and video materials.

3. Jazz Ex tempore:Workshop Tradition in transition: from traditional Sardenian music to jazz Enzo Favata (Sardenia, Italy)

Enzo FavataEnzo Favata is one of the most active and well-known Sardinian musicians. He plays the saxophone and sopranino sax other wind instruments, above all ethnic ones from Sardinia. His research joins the arcane and the modern, experimenting with different languages and musical cultures.
After having played traditional jazz for some years, 1992. he make the Jana Project - a project which weds ethnic music from other parts of the world with jazz improvisation.
During the same period he developed another project with the guitarist Marcello Peghin and the percussionist Roberto Pellegrini: Tangram Trio, an experimental group in the field of contemporary jazz and vanguard music, halfway between minimalism, noise music and underground. In 1995 this group won a European competition in Poitiers as best improvising group.
Alongside the concert experience was that of musical production for soundtracks working with RAI, radio and television, dance and theatre.
At the start of 1993 he debutted as the composer of soundtracks for cinema, putting his name to the music of a film“With love ….Fabia” by the Italian director Maria Teresa Camoglio. The experience was repeated in 1995 with the film by the director Antonello Grimaldi “The sky is ever bluer” presented at international film festival of Berlin.
1997 saw an important collaboration with a master of the Argentine bandoneon, Dino Saluzzi. This collaboration was recorded on the Cd Ajò. The disc had been placed in the best discs of 1997 according to the World Music Charts Europe
