Marunada, traditional gastronomic event offers made of famous Lovran sweet chestnuts - maruni. Besides attractive gastronomic offer, the visitors are attracted by entertainment program ( Lovran Wind Orchestra music, folk and music ensembles from Istria and Kvarner, animators, prize competition, exhibitions...). The event is accompanied by chestnut (marun) pastry in restaurants and cafés of Lovran and Opatija.
June 2010.
June is the month when Lovran and its surrounding area, Lovranština, turn red from the fruits of a unique variety of Lovran cherries. In that period Lovran cafes and restaurants, as well as numerous stands on Trg Slobode in the old town offer juicy cherries as well as cakes and other dishes made of them, according to old recipes, 12.06.2010. The event is accompanied by entertainment programmes consisting of folklore, amusements and dances.
