Chocolate Festival 2014

Opatija's sweetest event on the first weekend in December presents the best Croatian and international chocolate brands, and small specialised manufacturers who produce original chocolate desserts. The chocolate exposition and sales area is located within the Open Air Theatre, where exhibitors present the best of their products. Further exciting events such as workshops, lectures, tastings, concerts and exhibitions dedicated to chocolate, take place in Opatija's hotels and restaurants, art galleries, exhibition pavilions, museums and schools. Special part of the event is the "Opatija Paradox" where various chocolate flavours are combined under expert guidance with quality wines from the region.

MARUNADA – sweet chestnut festival

Marunada is the traditional food festival dedicated to the special type of sweet chestnut that thrives only on the slopes of Mount Učka, and which is known locally as "marun" (hence the name of the event).

Bela nedeja 2014

The first weekend of October are the days of tasting the new wine, the popular belica, an authentic white wine of Kastav region. Bela nedeja is not only a new wine fair but also a day when old crafts are presented, various goods are on sale, numerous stalls with drinks and food are set up and a variety of events take place. Bela nedeja has a centuries-old tradition and it is even mentioned in The Law of the City of Kastav from 1400.

Gourmet story of Opatija Riviera

The event includes all hoteliers and restaurateurs transforming Opatija Riviera in gaourmet irresistible destination. Local specialties Kvarner scampi, the wild asparagus, Lovran cherries, maroon, lure most subtle palates.

GAST EXPO 2014 - Fair of Croatian wines and authentic delicacies

This fair, dedicated to young wines and traditional recipes, brings together the best Croatian producers of quality foods and wines. During the event, visitors can sample traditional desserts, special delicacies such as truffles, and selected wines from Istria, Dalmatia and continental Croatia.

Kvarner EXPO 2014

Every year, “Kvarner Expo” will attract numerous exhibitioners from all over Croatia, so tourists staying in Opatija during that time may see and find out everything they want to know about original Croatian souvenirs in one place. Judging by the experience until now, the exhibition should satisfy everyone’s tastes and wishes. The organizers of the exhibition are the Chamber of Trade of Primorsko-Goranska County, Opatija Trade Association and Alpe Adria Expo from Opatija, with the participation of the representatives of all Croatian counties.
