Opatija gourmet story

A diverse, delicious, fragrant, delicate, based on healthy, authentic foods ... such is the Abbey Goourmet story, which will its seductive flavors "win" from 9 May to 19 June 2017. To visitors even closer its rich and varied cuisine, based on healthy food, Opatija Tourist Board is organizing the event "Abbey gourmet story". During this gastronomic in restaurants, taverns, cafes and pastry shops will be offered premium gourmet delicacies with authentic food.

Film, Food & Music Night - Miriam Makeba: Mama Africa

'Film, Food & Music Night' organized by Milenij hotel continues in the autumn terms. This interesting concept combines music, film and fine gastronomy, and continues with the screening of extraordinary documentary film by Finnish director Mika Kaurismäki, about the charismatic and impressive African musician Miriam Makeba. Her strong message against racism and poverty, and the message for equality and peace toured the world. Mama Africa, which was her nickname, is an homage dedicated to this artist who embody the voice and the hope of Africa.

Maronenfest - Marunada

Die Marunada ist die traditionelle kulinarische Veranstaltung, die einer speziellen Esskastaniensorte gewidmet ist: den Maronen von Lovran. Diese wachsen nur an den Hängen des Berges Učka und sind örtlich unter dem Namen „Maruni“ bekannt. Die Maronen von Lovran zeichnen sich durch ihren spezifischen süßen Geschmack aus und dienen als Hauptzutat interessanter Süßspeisen, die bei diesem Fest präsentiert werden. Abgesehen von Kuchen, Torten und Pfannkuchen, die man nur hier verkosten kann, bietet diese Veranstaltung, die von internationalen Medien als eines der zehn besten gastronomischen Feste Europas gelistet wurde, auch andere mit Maronen zubereitete Speisen zum Verkosten an, auch rohe oder geröstete Maronen. Ein Musikprogramm mit populären örtlichen Bands darf natürlich auch nicht fehlen.

The third 'Film, Food & Music' evening, there will be a screening of the documentary film directed by Davis Guggenheim 'From the Sky Down' about famous Irish group U2 and genesis of their album 'Achtung Baby' from 1991.
